About The Wharton Monk

Andrew first discovered mindfulness meditation while a student at The Johns Hopkins University. He met Sayadaw U Pandita, the leading teacher in the Mahasi Method of Mindfulness, and studied with him for the next eight years. During this time, he founded a non-profit to organize meditation retreats and spent years on silent meditation retreats with Sayadaw. He then returned to the U.S. to earn an MBA from The Wharton School while also teaching meditation to fellow students.
He spent fifteen years working in private banking and wealth management at firms like Morgan Stanley, UBS, ANZ and Bank of Singapore while continuing to deepen his own practice in monasteries and retreat centers throughout the world. With more than 10,000 hours in intensive mindfulness training and his business background he is able to empower people in this deeply grounded tradition while also optimizing it for application in today’s world.
