While mindfulness is proven to provide infinite health and mental benefits, most people don’t meditate due to “lack of time”. While it would seem to be relatively easy to find 10-20 minutes to mindfully focus, life gets in the way and it isn’t always convenient. If you are in a stressful gathering or meeting, or stuck in traffic, you don’t have time to find a quiet place to meditate. What do you do in those situations?

The reality is, all it takes is a minute and One Minute Mindfulness shows you how!

Andrew Scheffer, The Wharton Monk, shows audiences how to strengthen mental capacity and how they can master the mind, body and performance. With nearly 30 years and over 10,000 hours of dedicated mindfulness study with many of the world’s great teachers, Andrew shares his Mahasi Mindfulness training – considered the purest and simplest form of mindfulness.

About The Wharton Monk

Andrew has the rare and unique distinction of being a former Buddhist monk and a Wharton MBA.

Andrew first discovered mindfulness meditation while a student at The Johns Hopkins University. He met Sayadaw U Pandita, the leading teacher in the Mahasi Method of Mindfulness, and studied with his him for the next eight years. During this time, he founded a non-profit to organize meditation retreats and spent years on silent meditation retreats with Sayadaw. He then returned to the U.S. to earn an MBA from The Wharton School while also teaching meditation to fellow students.

He spent fifteen years working in private banking and wealth management at firms like Morgan Stanley, UBS, ANZ and Bank of Singapore while continuing to deepen his own practice in monasteries and retreat centers throughout the world. With more than 10,000 hours in intensive mindfulness training and his business background he is able to empower people in this deeply grounded tradition while also optimizing it for application in today’s world.

By the end of the course I found myself using Andrew’s mindfulness technique several times a day – before meetings, while driving, at the airport, etc. It’s the only type of mindfulness meditation I’ve found works anytime, anywhere in as little as a minute.

While this subject matter may conjure up thoughts of hippies throwing flower and smelling like petrulli oil, I can assure you that Andrew is very far off that mark. He is a guy I know from my Wharton MBA days who recently gave up his lucrative banking career to build a business helping others learn a technique that served him well for the 20+ years he has been practicing it.

This is not about religion. This is not spirituality. This is about a technique to help enhance creativity, innovation and to help people achieve their personal best.
